Saturday 28th May 2016

The Outdoor Bowling Club is situated adjacent to the sea front and beach.  It has Two greens each with 6 rinks plus a spacious, well-appointed licenced clubhouse and a large car park.

We are open for bowling from midday until dusk Monday to Friday and 10:00am to dusk Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting)

Recently our thatched roof was replaced by an attractive slate tile and the inside of the clubhouse has been refurbished.  The comfortable lounge has a well stocked bar, with a Club Steward on duty. (Bar is open during normal licencing hours)

Our facilities include a fully fitted kitchen, ladies and gents changing rooms and toilets plus a separate toilet for the disabled with wheelchair access.

There are approximately 130 playing members and in excess of  50 social members.  This fact together with the superb facilities makes Clacton Outdoor Bowls Club one of the most sought after clubs in the country.

The Gentlemen's Section is affiliated to the Bowls England  Bowling Association (BEBA) and the Essex County Bowling Association (ECBA).

The Ladies Section is affiliated to the Bowls England  Bowling Association (BEBA) and the Essex County Women's Bowling Association (ECWBA).

Both sections are also affiliated to the Tendring Hundred and District Bowling Association (TH&DBA).

During the summer season we will be the host to at least 30 visiting clubs who travel from all over the country to be entertained at Clacton.

During the winter there is a full programme of activities that includes social events, carpet bowls, cribbage, canasta, darts and bridge.

Although Clacton-On-Sea Outdoor Bowling Club is a private club, members of the public and visitors are welcome to play bowls provided they are wearing suitable footwear and dress. i.e. flat soled bowls shoes (Trainers with ribbed or patterned soles are not suitable)
